Microdermabrasion and Dermaplaning

Improve the look of your skin and allow it to better absorb products through exfoliation. Microdermabrasion and dermaplaning takes dead skin off the surface, leaving you with smoother and clearer skin.

Microdermabrasion and Dermaplaning

Exfoliation: Your Secret Weapon
One of skin care’s best secret weapons is exfoliation. Done on a regular basis exfoliation of this kind is imperative to flawless-looking skin. Cell turnover and product absorption are largely improved through exfoliation treatments. Removal of fine hair on the skin and a smoother application of makeup is an added bonus of dermaplaning.

Exfoliation helps improve:

  • Skin Texture
  • Dull or Dry Patches
  • Uneven Skin Color
  • Acne and Acne Scarring
  • Fine Lines
  • Sun Spots
  • Age Spots
  • Clogged Pores and Blackheads
  • Large Pores
  • Rough, Thick and Dry Skin

Facial exfoliation can be performed chemically with chemical peels or mechanically, with Microdermabrasion or Dermaplaning (also called dermablading).

Microdermabrasion

Body Beautiful Day Spa Phoenix uses crystal-free microdermabrasion to remove the top most layer of dead skin, leaving more subtle and vibrant skin.

The natural diamond chips gently abrade the skin while dead skin cells are vacuumed away in a sterile controlled manner. This process leaves a smoother texture and promotes growth.

Express Microdermabrasion
Our Express Microdermabrasion gives your skin two passes with our Crystal Free Microdermabrasion machine. Our Express Microdermabraion includes a cleanse before and moisturizer after the procedure. An Express Microdermabrasion is often performed before light chemical peels, Laser Genesis, or LED Light Therapy to achieve better overall results. 30 minutes, $65

Standard Microdermabrasion
The Standard Microdermabrasion at Body Beautiful Day Spa Phoenix gives your skin three passes with our Crystal Free Microdermabrasion machine. A Standard Microdermabrasion is often recommended when accumulated dead skin cells make your face look bumpy, course, and/or very dry. These dead skin cells clog pores, trapping dirt and oils that become blackheads, pimples, and other facial blemishes. Our Standard Microdermabrasion begins with a deep cleanse. A personalized mask and selection of the highest quality skin care products follows the passes with our Crystal Free Microdermabrasion machine to leave your skin fresh and nourished. 60 minutes

Dermaplaning

An excellent treatment for freshening and revitalizing skin.

Dermaplaning, also called dermablading, is an excellent treatment for freshening and revitalizing skin. During the procedure, one of our Licensed Aestheticians carefully exfoliates the top layer of the skin with a surgical blade. This process removes dead skin cells, peach fuzz, and stimulates skin development. There is no down time; you can immediately return to your busy schedule. After Dermaplaning, topical products are more efficiently absorbed into the skin, providing you with a higher return on your investment in quality skin care products.

Your dermaplaning session begins with a cleanse. After your skin has been skillfully exfoliated, a personalized mask is applied. Your session ends with the application of a personalized combination of the highest quality skin care products.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the procedure done?

Microdermabrasion can be successfully used on the face, neck, and chest arms; more rarely on the knees, elbows, arms and hands. After cleansing your treatment area, the Aesthetician will use a jet of sterile micro-crystals to gently exfoliate the skin without the use of anesthesia. The Aesthetician will adjust the pressure for your skin and move the Microdermabrasion machine’s hand piece across the treatment area to deliver a precise stream of crystals onto the skin’s surface; the scale-like, lifeless epidermal cells and the crystals are then suctioned back into the same hand piece to reveal a fresh, invigorated skin surface. After your treatment, the Aesthetician may choose to do one of several different type of chemicals peel depending on your skin condition.

No, however there may be some discomfort and it may sting a little around the eye area. Our Aesthetician will normally increase the treatment strength each session to increase the penetration to the skin. Your skin may feel a little hot and appear a little pink immediately following your treatment. You should tell your Aesthetician immediately if your treatment is too uncomfortable; she can turn down the controls.

Prior to your appointment, you should avoid Retin A, Acid Peels, heavy exfoliation, and any other treatment or condition that would make skin sensitive for the week before your Microdermabrasion appointment.

Microdermabrasion is a quick procedure that takes between 30 and 60 minutes.

For best results, 6-8 sessions are recommended, one every one to two weeks. Following your initial treatment, your skin maintenance program should include an additional treatment every 1-3 months. Most people should see dramatic improvements after just a few treatments, but stick with it for the best results! Severe skin problems, such as deep acne scars and dark spots will take several treatments before any improvement is noticeable.

Yes. Microdermabrasion is the perfect compliment to other procedures including Facials, Laser Genesis, eMatrix, and Chemical Peels.

Microdermabrasion and chemical peels are performed on an outpatient basis so you may return home the same day. You can return to normal activities immediately following your treatment.
