We were surprised to receive literally hundreds of entries in the first Brand New, Younger Looking You Anti-Aging Makeover Contest sponsored by Body Beautiful Day Spa Phoenix | Scottsdale. Every story was compelling, and the selecting a single winner was very difficult.
Julie, our winner, was diagnosed with breast cancer in January of last year. Chemotherapy caused Julie to lose all of her hair, including her eyebrows and eyelashes. You’ve probably seen the commercials about Juvederm for wrinkles. Juvederm is a clear gel made out of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in your skin, where it is involved in tissue repair. Unlike collagen fillers derived from animals, such Evolence, Zyderm, Zyplast, and Artefill, you won’t need allergy testing before your Juvederm procedure.
When you are young, your skin has a lot of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid binds and absorbs water to create the volume in your face, lips, and earlobes that makes you look young. As you grow older, the amount of hyaluronic acid in your skin naturally decreases, especially if you are exposed to excessive sunlight. This causes your skin to lose its natural contours, creating those unwanted facial wrinkles, like those found around the mouth (marionette lines) and nose (nasiolabial folds).
Juvederm is used to add or restore volume anywhere on the face, and even in earlobes! In addition to filling in folds, wrinkles and creases, it is commonly used to enhancing and sculpting lips, as well as plumping nasolabial folds, which run from beside the nostrils to the corners of the mouth, and marionette lines, which run from the corners of the mouth to the chin. It also is used to hide puffy lower eyelids and enhance the shape of the cheekbones. Juvederm is FDA-approved to last up to one year.
You will see results with Juvederm immediately, and you’ll continue to see improvement for another 1-2 weeks as the Juvederm softens and draws moisture into the area. There is little to no downtime for Juvederm. Most patients only have some mild discomfort, and you might have some mild swelling that usually clears up in a week or less.
It’s possible to bruise with Juvederm, although most patients don’t. Bruising is usually mild and can be covered with lipstick or makeup. You’ll be less prone to bruising if you avoid blood thinners, such as Vitamin E and aspirin, for ten days prior to treatment. Using a topical Vitamin K gel after your treatment will also help minimize any bruising.
If you are not happy with your Juvederm injection, hyaluronidase can be used to “melt” or accelerate the degradation of Juvederm. Hyaluronidase does not damage the skin or its structural components, and is useful for correcting areas of over-injection. Body Beautiful Day Spa & Med Spa in the Phoenix – Scottsdale area does administer hyaluronidase, however a two day lead time is required. Hyaluronidase has a very short shelf life and must be specially ordered. How Do I Get Coupons To Use For My Treatments?
Prior to coming to Body Beautiful Spa in Phoenix for a BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel treatment or to purchase LATISSE®, log onto your Brilliant Distinctions account and choose “Redeem Points”. The screen will show you how many points you have available to you. Make your selection as to how many points you would like to use and Click “Create Coupon”. Print this coupon and bring it with you. The coupon amount will be subtracted from your treatment or purchase charge.
What Happens If I Forget to Print a Coupon?
Since this is not a program created and maintained by our office, we cannot honor any discounts offered by the Brilliant Distinctions Program unless a printed coupon is presented at the time of treatment. We do not have the power to make exceptions since it is not our program. You MUST bring your coupon if you wish to utilize your discount on BOTOX® Cosmetic, JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel, or LATISSE.
Do I have to Do Anything After the Treatment?
Yes. Once you have received your treatment our staff will let the program know that you have received a treatment. The Brilliant Distinctions Program will then email you a voucher with the points earned by having this treatment. Please note that there is an expiration date on the voucher. If the voucher is not redeemed prior to the expiration date noted in the email, these points will be lost.
Do the Points Expire?
Yes. It is important to realize that the points have not been added to your profile until after you redeem the voucher issued from your treatment. The expiration date of the voucher will be printed on the voucher you receive in the email. Once the points are “banked” the program states that these points will remain active in your profile as long as you have either deposited or redeemed points within 2 years. Body Beautiful Spa in Phoenix will not be able to make allowances for expired vouchers or points since The Brilliant Distinctions Program is an Allergan Corporation Program.
