When you are young, your skin has a lot of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid binds and absorbs water to create the volume in your face, lips, and earlobes that makes you look young. As you grow older, the amount of hyaluronic acid in your skin naturally decreases, especially if you are exposed to excessive sunlight. This causes your skin to lose its natural contours, creating those unwanted facial wrinkles, like those found around the mouth (marionette lines) and nose (nasiolabial folds).

Juvederm is used to add or restore volume anywhere on the face, and even in earlobes! In addition to filling in folds, wrinkles and creases, it is commonly used to enhancing and sculpting lips, as well as plumping nasolabial folds, which run from beside the nostrils to the corners of the mouth, and marionette lines, which run from the corners of the mouth to the chin. It also is used to hide puffy lower eyelids and enhance the shape of the cheekbones. Juvederm is FDA-approved to last up to one year.

You will see results with Juvederm immediately, and you’ll continue to see improvement for another 1-2 weeks as the Juvederm softens and draws moisture into the area. There is little to no downtime for Juvederm. Most patients only have some mild discomfort, and you might have some mild swelling that usually clears up in a week or less.

It’s possible to bruise with Juvederm, although most patients don’t. Bruising is usually mild and can be covered with lipstick or makeup. You’ll be less prone to bruising if you avoid blood thinners, such as Vitamin E and aspirin, for ten days prior to treatment. Using a topical Vitamin K gel after your treatment will also help minimize any bruising.

If you are not happy with your Juvederm injection, hyaluronidase can be used to “melt” or accelerate the degradation of Juvederm. Hyaluronidase does not damage the skin or its structural components, and is useful for correcting areas of over-injection. Hyaluronidase has a very short shelf life and must be specially ordered. As probably already know, hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadoptropin) is the natural hormone that is naturally present in the human body. In his book “Pounds & Inches: A New Approach to Obesity”, Dr. A.T.W. Simeons found that during pregnancy an obese woman can very easily lose weight. He found that his patients more easily lost weight, and did not lose muscle mass that is so important to overall health. Dr. Simeons administered hCG with injections because at the time, this was the most effective means of maintaining the body’s hCG levels. That is how hCG shots, or injections, became the standard method of administering hCG in weight loss treatment.

hCG products, both for injections and oral drops, are created out of synthetic hormones, meaning they are created in a laborator. hCG drops are also known as Sublingual hCG. This is because when you place drops under your tongue, it gets quickly absorbed into the bloodstream. The only difference is that you need to take twice as much of hCG in drops as compared to hCG injections.

So which is better? hCG oral drop hCG or hCG shots? In terms of effectiveness, it makes no difference! In fact, a recent study of patients on the hCG Diet who switched from the hCG injections to oral drops lost just as much weight.

The discovery of the effectiveness of oral hCG drops is good news for people who don’t like needles and don’t want to inject themselves at home. They can get the benefits of hCG through oral drops without having to inject themselves. Some believe that oral hCG drops are more convenient and easier than hCG shots.

In term of cost, choosing oral hCG drops doesn’t save you money compared to hCG injections for weight loss. The added cost of dosing twice daily for oral hCG drops is balanced out with the cost of preparing the syringes needed for injecting hCG at home. In summary, both oral hCG drops and hCG injections are effective for aiding weight loss.

In this study, researchers went deeper and found that massage also triggers biochemical sensors that send inflammation-reducing signals to muscle cells. They also found that signals muscle to build more mitochondria, which, as the power center of cells, plays an important role in healing.

This novel study looked inside the muscle to look at the biochemical effects of massage. It was the first first to test the effect of massage using a muscle biopsy to show it reduces inflammation, an underlying factor in many chronic diseases. The results hint that massage therapy alleviates muscle pain by the same biological mechanisms as most pain medications, and could be an effective alternative.

Dr. Mark Tarnopolsky, professor of medicine for the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, oversaw the study. The study was based on 11 men in their twenties. On their first visit, their exercise capacity was assessed. Two weeks later, the they cycled on a bicycle for more than 70 minutes, to a point of exhaustion when they couldn’t cycle any more. They then rested for 10 minutes.

While resting, a massage therapist then performed massage for 10 minutes on one leg using a variety of techniques. Muscle biopsies were done on both legs (quadriceps) and repeated 2 1/2 hours later. Justin Crane, a doctoral student in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster admits being surprised that massage had such a profound effect. “I didn’t think that little bit of massage could produce that remarkable of a change, especially since the exercise was so robust. Seventy minutes of exercise compared to 10 of massage, it is clearly potent.”
